  • When using your Shady Co umbrella, make sure the lower pole is secured at least 20cm into the sand
  • To tighten the pole together, rotate the dial clockwise until its secure. To release, simply rotate it anti-clockwise
  • Do not pull the pole out of its hinge if its secured tight into place as it will damage and scratch the painted pole
  • When raising the canopy, you will need to extend the canopy until it's in place and you hear it lock into place
  • To angle the canopy, hold on to the top pole above the spokes and swivel the mechanism in the desired direction. Always try to tilt the umbrella into the wind
  • Be careful in windy conditions and ensure the umbrella is very well secured into the sand or earth. We do not recommend using in extra windy conditions

  • Always place your Shady Co. umbrella back into its matching carry case when not in use
  • Place your Shady Co. beach umbrella in its protective carry case when not in use store in a cool and dry area
  • Be sure to pat dry and clean off any sand or dampness with a cloth prior to storing it away
  • We do not however recommend leaving the umbrellas opened and outdoors for long periods of time
  • You will notice general wear and tear on the pole after each use but this is inevitable and not covered under your Shady Co 6 month warranty
  • If you don't care for your shade properly with our simple steps your warranty will be void

  • Shady Co. Premium Beach Umbrellas are UPF 50+ providing an excellent level of sun protection. Due to the inevitable reflection from the sand and small surface area of shade provided, we recommend wearing sunscreen as an extra precaution
  • Shady Co. Classic Beach Umbrellas have a low UPF rating so we recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen at all times. For more information on how to be sun smart, visit the Cancer Council NSW website
